Vladic–Weal Architecture is a specialist heritage conservation practice based in London. We work across the United Kingdom on the repair, restoration, and sensitive adaptation of historic buildings, from medieval parish churches to Georgian country houses.

Our Work

St Mary, Wanstead – Grade I Listed;

Beautiful Georgian Church, designed by Thomas Hardwick. We supported the client in their HLF bid for repairs of the South elevation which was successful. We are currently working on a project to repair and improve access to the fascinating crypt that runs under the historic drive and church. We are proud to be Inspecting Architects for this beautiful church.

Christ Church, Wanstead – Grade II* Listed;

Lovely Sir George Gilbert Scott designed church. We were thrilled to be able to help our client with stage one HLF bid for significant reordering and repairs which has been successful.

We are proud to be Inspecting Architects for this lovely church.

This is a very beautiful, old church with special sense of peace and number of interesting, well preserved architectural details. The principal Architect has been involved with various projects over the years including complete removal of the very damaging cementitious render from the 15th century tower. It is a pleasure to be the Inspecting Architect for such a special church.

St Andrew’s Headington – Grade II* Listed;

St Lawrence, North Hinksey

Beautiful, Grade II* Listed ancient church dating back to 13th century. Project for interior reordering to provide accessible WC, kitchenette and children play area are going through the faculty approval process. It is a pleasure to be the Inspecting Architect for such a lovely church.

St Nicholas, Harwich

Grade II* Listed church, beautiful, strong perpendicular style sitting proud in its surroundings. Generous interior with double gallery, notable painting above the altar and collection of ancient tiles. We are pleased to be Inspecting Architects for this special church.

St Edmund’s, Chingford

A very interesting 20th century church designed by Nugent Cachemaille-Day, with beautiful stained glass windows and late 20th century artisan designed fixtures and fittings. All looked after with care by the committed members of the congregation. We were pleased to be involved with the extensive roof repairs project which is now in its early stages. It is a pleasure to be the Inspecting Architects for this interesting church.

St Mary The Virgin, Norwood Green

Public buildings

Orford Castle, Suffolk – Grade I Listed and Ancient Monument

Our principal architect has been involved with complex repairs and conservation of this fantastic 12th century castle built between 1165 and 1171 for Henry II. The Keep is circular internally with polygonal exterior with three square projecting turrets.

The intricate project involved repair and rendering of the exterior of this Keep which was suffering from extensive erosion, new roof covering and redesign of the ventilation strategy of the main rooms of the Keep. We completed the project for our client English Heritage.

We were very pleased to complete the exciting project of comprehensive repairs and conservation of this Grade I Listed building in central London for our client English Heritage.

We also developed a feasibility study to convert the interior to a new use, as a two bedroom accommodation, an extraordinary destination to stay in the heart of London.

Marble Arch, London

This Grade I Listed, Robert Adam designed country home is stunning architectural marvel sitting beautifully in its setting of extensive gardens and landscape. We recently completed cleaning, repairs, and redecoration of the south elevation, including localised roof repairs.

Osterley House

Dr Johnson’s Museum – Grade I Listed, Museum

We are proud to have been the Honorary Architect for this beautiful museum in the heart of the City of London for many years now.

We have been involved with various projects over the years and continue to work closely with our client in planning for the future of the museum.

This Grade I Listed, Robert Adam designed country home is stunning architectural marvel sitting beautifully in its setting of extensive gardens and landscape. We recently completed cleaning, repairs, and redecoration of the south elevation, including localised roof repairs.

Our Principal led repairs and redecorations of this perfect architectural jewel.

Osterley House – Garden House

Inigo Jones designed, this is the last complete remainder of the Whitehall Palace.

Full of stunning architectural features, including ceiling painted by Rubens, this is one of the most important historic building in London and country as a whole.

Our Principal was the lead Architect for the new ballistic secondary glazing, and was a joint lead Architect for exterior repairs and redecorations, as well as feasibility study to improve access, create a café and auxiliary areas.

Banqueting House – Grade I Listed, London

Grade I listed stately home in North London

Our Principal has been involved in various projects over the years, including main elevation repairs and decorations, repair of the faux bridge and a feasibility study for the Stable Block.
